How important is the Bible in the process of my spiritual growth?

A Christian (believer in Christ) cannot grow or mature spiritually without the Bible, which is also known as the Word of God. Here are three sections of Scripture that show us the importance of the Word of God:
All Scripture (the Bible) is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17 NIV)

Now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace (the Bible), which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
(Acts 20:32 NIV)

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk (of the Word), so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
(1 Peter 1:23-25, 2:1-3 NIV)

Just as children need natural food in order for their bodies to grow and mature, Christians need the Word of God (the Bible) to grow up and mature in spiritual things. This is why it is so important to read the Bible and to hear it taught. How precious is God's Word!
