"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Rom 12:1).

An Attitude Of Christ
Romans 12:1 is a command all Christians must hearken to. It is an attitude we must all have. It is the attitude of Christ.

Jesus presented His body to God daily, even in His death. Thank God He is no longer dead. God raised Him from the dead for His obedience. And today we can all follow in His steps and live in victory with Him.

The Bible says that presenting your body to God is a reasonable service. You don't get a reward for living holy. Living holy is something you are supposed to do. God assumes that you will to do what He told you to do. That means that you won't allow just anybody to handle your body.

Presenting your body to God as a living sacrifice means that the only one who handles your body is the one who has made a covenant with you.

If you are single your body belongs to God, your covenant keeper. And 1 Corinthians 7 says that if you are married, your body belongs to your spouse, your covenant partner. There is no middle ground.

Your covenant is with God and with whom God says you can have a covenant. And when you married, you and your spouse made a covenant of commitment to one another before God and before man.

Listening To Your General
Presenting your body to God also means that whatever God says about being holy, you will do it. Decide to do exactly what God says concerning your life.

You see, in the natural army, soldiers don't decide what they are going to do on the battlefield. Once they make the decision to enlist in the army, they have to listen to the General of the Army.

In the same manner, when you became a Christian in God's army, that meant that you no longer decide on your own. Your decision is to find out what your General—Jesus—says to do.

Then once you find out, you do it with joy. It is then that your General, can lead you to victory in every area of your life.
