I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels.
(Ezek. 16:7)
Ezekiel 16 tells a story that I believe illustrates how much your heavenly Father loves you. One day a prince was walking when he saw something on the ground up ahead.

To his great surprise, he found a newborn baby who was flailing and kicking. There was life left in her, but blood was everywhere. She had been left to die, yet she was holding on to life.

The prince picked her up and said, "I don't care where you're from or who left you here to die. When others say, 'die,' I say, 'live.'"

There is death screaming at you from every angle—in music, movies, books, magazines, and on television and the Internet. Death and hopelessness are everywhere. But God says live!

Society's perception of the truth warps the mind and cloaks the eyes from the true hunger of the heart—to be loved and accepted and live a life of freedom, happiness, and contentment. That comes from being empowered with God's Word and walking in His presence.

You may feel as though you don't have any kick left, but God sees you right where you are, just as the prince saw that helpless baby. God wants to pick you up and let you experience His love. He is ready to move in your life and turn the tide from destruction to restoration.1
