How did Noah fill the Ark with all the animals, bugs, and birds? Did he go out and trap them?

God had to supernaturally get involved in order for this to happen. Notice the following verses from the New International Version of the Bible, which I think does a fine job of translating these passages.
But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark; you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.

Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.
(Gen. 6:18-20)

On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.

Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.
(Gen. 7:13-15)
God can make animals, insects, and birds do what He wants, and I am convinced this is how the Ark was filled.
