My life is a wreck at this time. Consequently, I have no peace of mind. Can a person experience peace in the midst of a problem?

Yes! Let's begin by examining a statement made by the Lord Jesus.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33 KJV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
(John 14:27 NKJV)
Jesus said, "in this life we will have trouble," but He gave us something to guard and keep us when we are in a troubled time—peace. Notice what else Jesus said, "not as the world gives you." God gives us a peace that's different than the peace this world offers. What's the difference?

The peace this world offers is contingent upon circumstances. If things aren't just right we have no peace. The peace Jesus gives comes to us and stays with us at all times! Did you notice how John 16:33 begins? Jesus said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace." Jesus just finished telling them some things that He said would give them peace.

Notice this powerful biblical truth that Jesus had shared.

"For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God" (John 16:27 KJV). If we believe in Jesus (Rom. 10:8-13), then the Father loves us and gives us what we ask for in prayer (v. 26). Knowing this is the first step in walking in God's supernatural peace.
