"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isa. 55:9 KJV).

In the United States today, we are surrounded with people who show a lack of respect and reverence toward God. Consequently, we must be mindful not to fall into this trap of blasphemy that the devil has set. Now blasphemy is the act of insulting, or showing contempt, or lack of reverence to God. Colossians 3:8 says to put it away from you.

We see a lack of respect for God in the news media, and it's at its worse in the universities. The instructors have contempt for God, contempt for anyone that believes in God, and contempt for the whole idea that there is a God.

Then to top it off, they call it education. That's not education - it's destruction. God created this world, and to attempt to erase Him from the earth is nothing more than blasphemy. There ought to be limits on man's behavior.

Sadly, too many Christians buy into that way of thinking, or at least allow it to douse their testimony. Buying into the world's agenda makes you irreverent to God, which breeds hostility toward God. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be hostile to God.

But see, if you follow the world's definition of how things ought to be done, then hostility toward God will follow. The world's definition of life is warped. They say, "Don't take anything off of anybody, ever." Or, "If you mess with me, I'll cut your head off."

But that wasn't the way Jesus operated. That's not God's definition of how things ought to be done; Jesus did only that which pleased God. God's ways are always different than the world's ways.

God's ways still work today. Our mission in this life is to learn how to live God's way. His way is higher and His way is better. And I have news for you, God's way will cause your life to be better and sweeter than you could ever imagine. So, turn away from the world's attitude of blasphemy toward God. And seek God's way more intense than ever before.
