"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:1-3 KJV).

Jesus delivered us from anger. And anger is a trick Satan uses to rob us from God's blessings. Colossians tells us how to respond in all situations. It said you are dead and your life is hid in Christ. It's telling us something about a dead man.

You can punch a dead man in the mouth, and he will not respond, because he is dead. If, then, you are dead and your life is hid in Christ, that means you do only that which pleases God.

Colossians 1:8 lists the things that can rob you from the miracle working power of God in your life. Anger is one of many.

There was someone in our church that allowed anger to get the best of them. They actually cursed out one of the workers in the church. And, of course, that person was ordered to leave and not return to our property.

Someone may say, "I just can't control my anger. That's just my personality. That's just the way I am." And I'm telling you that it isn't. It's the way you were. You are now a new creation in Christ. Change what you say about yourself, because you are a new man. You are a new woman in Christ Jesus. And the love of God is on the inside of you.

You can control all anger, because you have the power to do so. Choose love instead of anger. God knows that a step into anger is a step out of love. And a step out of love is a step out of faith because faith works by love.

And a step out of faith is out of the will of God because without faith it's not possible to please God. And if you can't please God, your faith can't work, and then your door is wide open for the enemy to come in and do all the things to you that he wants to do.

Decide today to control anger.

Make this confession of faith: I will not allow myself to fall for anger any more. I am not going speak the first thing that comes out of my mouth the minute my flesh gets riled. I will speak only that which is good in the sight of God, because I am delivered from anger, in Jesus' name.
