Ever see children fake like they are swimming? They just step into the water up to their ankles and move their arms as if they are really swimming. If you've ever seen that you know how it gives you a good laugh.
Now fast-forward a few years. Did you know that there are some teens that do the same thing when they go to church?
They fake it!
They look okay when they are at church. They even look like they're swimmin' in the river of God. But when Monday comes, they quickly back out of the river. Why? Because they have to change into the other person...who really isn't the REAL person.
So I want to know, who ARE you?
I'm telling you young person, we've got to put our flesh under and decrease so God can increase in every area of our life. We need to do everything that we can to get in the river of God, all the way over our heads!
Read this out loud (Go ahead, if someone is sitting at a computer next to you just be bold and blow them off and give them a scare...): "I want to go all the way with God. I will not hold back because I am giving everything to God."
There that even made ME feel better. What about you? Sometimes you need to hear yourself say things out loud. Besides, who are you most likely to believe? YOURSELF! Right?
Even so there is someone else that you need to believe first!
"He who believes in me, who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on me, regardless of what happens, as the scripture has said, from his innermost being shall flow continuously springs and rivers of living water" (John 7:38 AMP).
Jesus is the fountain of living water. Jesus can continually flow in your life if you are obedient. When you are obedient you will then start eating the good of the land and He will flow in your life and fill you continuously with springs and rivers of living water.
You want everything that God could ever give to you, right?
When you get in the river - all the way with God - you are going to bring change to your school! The result is what I call reverse peer pressure. There will be so many people changed and blessed by the Word of God that they'll put YOU in a position of leadership.
Or maybe they'll put you in a position of authority where people want the things that you have because you show your leadership through Christ! But that will only happen if you show the confidence and the boldness that you can only get by diving in and going all the way with God!
So who are you? Go ahead! Cannonball into the river of God and get everyone around you soaked!
