We've had our recent telephone system for several years now. It has two phones, one with the base and one that can be put anywhere, as long as it is plugged in to an electrical outlet. It is a really handy system with many options.

Recently I was messing around with the phone and found out that if I pressed the redial button I could then press the down arrow and it gave me three or four of the last phone numbers I'd punched in. Wow, what a neat thing and what a time saver. I thought it only gave me the last number I dialed. This feature was available for years but because I didn't read the user manual, I had no idea. I was without this great benefit.

It is the same with most people. So many great and wonderful promises of provision are given to us after we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God made provision for protection, safety, angels, healing, health, and prosperity in every area of our life. In fact, He even said it, "…given unto us all things pertaining to life…" (2 Peter 2:3). God has given us everything we need to live a great life but because we don't read the Book (the Bible), we have no idea.

Here's the thing: just because you don't know or you have no idea what is provided for you, that does not mean it isn't there, isn't real and isn't available. People cry, "Healing isn't for today. It passed away with the disciples." Yet we can also be considered disciples since that word just means "those who learn or are pupils, students." So how can anything be based on that statement?

People quote old gospel songs and hymns, things their granny said, verses taken out of context, and words they heard from behind the pulpit as children. They take it all as the truth without every once checking into the Book to see if it is true or not.

God made provision for us for every area of life when His son Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Then He inspired people to write it all down in a book called the Bible so we could find out what our rights are as His children. He isn't trying to hide it from us; it is readily available. He gave us grace, which is unearned, unmerited, undeserved favor and acceptance. His love for us is not performance-based. We can't earn His love. He loves us as a father loves his child.

Yet knowing all this, if you don't get into your Bible and find out what is yours because of your righteousness (right standing with God), you will not receive the benefits available to you. Just like that telephone had the option to scroll the redial ability ever since I purchased it, the benefits from God are there ever since He purchased us with the Blood of Jesus.

People die all the time thinking that it is God's will for them. People are broke financially thinking God doesn't want them to have any money. People fail in life without ever knowing they had the option to receive all things that pertained to life, receiving every provision necessary to be a success in life. If you don't get in that Book and find out, all those wonderful options and benefits pass you by.

Get in your Bible today and read what your Father has provided for you. It's all in there—you have His Word on it!
