Whatever you choose to do comes from your will. Until the will is broken and yielded to God, we will never experience the will of God.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Not because I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.  But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(Phil. 4:13, 17, 19)
Jesus had to sow His will in the garden in order for there to be a reaping.

In order to get the will of God working in your life plant seeds in your heart (your garden). These seeds are the promises of God. This will allow what Jesus did in the garden, by giving up His will, to become yours. This all takes place with a confession of God’s Word.  Jesus Himself said not My will but thine.

Being in the will of God is to be in agreement with His own plan.  (1 John 5:15) “And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him”. When we are not living in our own will, but in God’s will, we know that whatever we request in agreement with His plan, He listens to and hears us. (Matt. 6:10) “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Gods eternal purpose for man is God’s own will. What is established in heaven God wants here on earth.

(John 18:39) “But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews”?  They had to decide whom they would have released into their lives.  Jesus King of the Jews, or Barabbas the robber.  We have a choice and will to have Jesus released in our lives or the robber of our soul.  Choice and will are the same.

Whatever you choose to do comes from your will. Until the will is broken and yielded to God we will never experience the will of God bought with Jesus’ own precious blood.  (James 3:4) “Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned  about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth”. Christ has already suffered in the flesh for you, for us.

(Jude 1:4) “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ”.  Unbelief is related to our own will.  (As long as there is little to no control over your own will you are in unbelief).

God is love and He that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in Him, (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.  (1  John 4:16) “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him”.

So the first confession that must take place is to confess the sin of  rejecting God’s love and that being Jesus Christ.  Along with the confession is for the believer to confess their faults one to another.  Confess with your lips.  In Romans 10: 9,10 we read that with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Someone who has been serving satan needs only to confess Jesus Christ as Lord, to be changed. (The complete will change).  The Christian must confess his or her sins daily to keep things clear between them and God.  (The will of desire).
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(John 1:12,13)
After one receives Jesus Christ we are then given the right, the privilege, the power to become the sons of God.  This is to them that believe on His name (His name is His authority).  When we become the sons of God, this birth is not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, not of the will of man, but of God. (His authority overrules our will). As born again believers, as Jesus we do not have the will produced by the flesh.

Jesus is the true Mercy Seat, the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. There had to be blood on the lid to receive the covenant (For you and me, penalty of sin paid for).  The mercy seat in the Old Testament was the same as Christ in the new.
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
(Rom. 3:25)
Jesus is the designated place for the sinner to deposit his sin. Not with the blood of another, but with His own blood  (He is not just the seat but also the blood). This blood is called Love when we make a deposit of our past and present sins here at the mercy seat, old things are passed away behold all things are become new.  In 2 Corinthians 5:17 our spirit man has been recreated by God.  We are a New Creation.

In Ephesians 4:3,24  this enables us to be spirit led instead of being led by our flesh.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(John 3:5-6)
This birth is produced by the Holy Spirit.

The will of God in the garden was the result of the process of determination. What God determines  to do is the result of His will.  What we determine to do is the result of our will.  There was an execution of our will, a finalization of our will in the garden.
