Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1Thess. 5:23 NASB)
Human services were created to provide assistance to people with unmet needs. These services entail mental, physical, economical, social, financial and emotional services based on the present condition of an individual or a family and are presently determined by faith-based organizations and by government entities. The success of human services is measured by the individual’s or family’s ability to successfully function in society having all needs sustained after utilizing the support.

In recent studies and statistics, the need for human services provided by the government has been constantly rising. Could this be because the government seeks to provide a service to support the physical and mental component of a human being but does not address the spirit? Without acknowledging the need to restore the wellbeing of all three components of a human (spirit, soul, and body), the support will be temporary. And according to the scripture, will not result in complete sanctity.

Could the church also be responsible for the increased dependency on government designed services? Does the church represent the God of Peace (where there is nothing missing, broken, or lacking)? It is the church’s responsibility is to teach and be an example of complete restoration in spirit, soul, and body. We have to be a church that is complete, perfected in Christ.

We must have our daily bread and fellowship with the Lord, in a constant state of prayer, and sensitive to be led by Holy Spirit always, having our minds focused on the Lord and His Kingdom (His way of thinking, doing, and being right); and we must have our bodies and physical health in order, managing our daily affairs with integrity and excellence. This is how the church maintains influence and becomes an example to those in need mentally, physically, economically, socially, financially and emotionally.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your Son, Jesus Christ, who has allowed us to be made right with You. Thank You that we are sanctified completely; spirit, soul, and body and we can stand before You and Your people holy, blameless, and without a single fault. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
