For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
(Eph. 2:8-9 NKJV)
Faith is what gives us access to the grace of God. If our access to grace has been granted, all that is left is for us to step through the door of faith. Yet sometimes we choose to stand on the threshold, admiring God’s grace but not stepping into it. At other times, we determine that we aren’t worthy to enter into something so beautiful. We decide that just looking at God’s grace is good enough for those who are “not good enough.” But that’s not what our Father intended.
Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you?
(Gal. 3:5 MSG)
God is not looking for us to be good enough. He knows we can’t strive hard enough to deserve His grace, and He made a way! Our weaknesses and failures are why He sent us His empowering grace, purchased through the sacrifice of His Son.

The question, then, isn’t, “Are you good enough?” It’s, “Do you believe He is?” When we have faith that God’s work is sufficient, His Spirit can empower us to do things we could never do for ourselves. So don’t dwell on your shortcomings any longer. You were made for more.

God’s grace builds us up and gives us an inheritance in Him. You are a son or daughter of the King of Kings, which means an amazing inheritance and destiny were written for you before you were born! It is time to turn away from doubt and self-pity and be confident “that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil. 1:6 NIV). Just as we were first saved by simply believing and responding to God, we are now to continue in His grace (not in our own strength) so that we can know Him and do marvelous works.

Are you ready to let go of your shortcomings and access the grace that God freely has given you? It is your choice. If you want to step into a life of faith, pray:

Heavenly Father, I ask You to enter into every area of my life that I thought was not good enough for You. I whole-heartedly believe that by Your grace, I am more than able to do all that You call me to do. Holy Spirit, please help me to walk this out daily by faith. I seek Your presence most of all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
