This is the day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
(Ps. 118:24)
Today is a gift from God so let's make the most of it! Doesn't it seem like there are too many people who live like every day is a burden? I don't know about you but I sure don't want to live like that. No matter what our circumstances are today we can choose to rejoice and be glad. To rejoice is a choice!

We can choose to put a smile on our face and chose to make the best out of any situation. I was returning home yesterday from Texas and needed to get to the Dallas airport to catch my flight. I thought I had given myself plenty of time to get there but then I hit the morning rush hour traffic. I drove up to what looked like a parking lot on the highway, yet I still had thirty miles to go. I could have panicked, could have freaked out and got all stressed over it but chose to say, "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and in glad in it." Do you know what happened? Well, even though I probably could have walked the rest of the way faster, I got to the airport in plenty of time to catch my flight.

Sometimes, it's not the thing that's happening today that robs you of your joy. Sometimes, it's what happened yesterday or it's a concern about something that may or may not happen tomorrow. Well, you can't change yesterday, and you shouldn't let tomorrow dictate your today. How you treat today is vital. Today could be the day when you make a decision that changes the course of the rest of your life. Today could be the day when you meet a new life long friend, finalize the deal you've been working on, or see God open a door of His favor on your life like never before.

Today could be the most exciting day of your life. You see today is a gift to you from the One who made heaven and earth. The One who loves you and gave His very own Son to die on the cross so that you could be redeemed and restored to who God created you to be. So since you have already been translated from death unto life, why not chose to make the most of today, and chose to rejoice and be glad in it!

Prayer: Father, I believe today is a gift from You. Help me to make the most of it. I am choosing to rejoice and be glad regardless of what comes my way. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
