Do you know it's possible that you're missing out on God's best for your life because of an insecurity or lack of confidence?

I ask because as I travel all over the world to minister, I meet people time and time again who are held back in different ways by this very issue.

Whatever God has called you to do, it will require being confident. I know, it's not easy. At least for me, confidence does not come natural.

For most of my young life, I was the example of insecurity. I never felt very pretty, I hated my legs, my freckles, my voice . . . I could go on.

Later, as I began ministering, developing messages, and writing books, voices in my head would try to convince me that it was useless information, nobody cared, I wasn't good enough, and what I was doing was a waste of time. It was the devil trying to get me to back down from my purpose.

I want you to realize today that the fears and insecurities you're dealing with are not coincidental. They're strategically put there to stop you from living your God-given dreams.

Satan wants you so full of fear and inadequacy that you NEVER step out and do what God created you to do. He hopes you live and die with your dreams unachieved.

Do you understand your enemy wants you to live a wasted, unfulfilled life? That's his plan. I don't know about you, but that makes me mad!

Insecurity is rooted in fear. It's a fear that you're not good enough, smart enough, educated enough, pretty enough, worth enough. If you're allowing fear (of any kind) to stop you, then you are falling right into Satan's plot and plan.

What have you been putting off, because of an insecurity? It could be . . .
• Calling someone who intimidates you
• Giving a speech or preaching a message
• Making sales calls
• Joining a gym
• Meeting with a financial planner
• Submitting your manuscript
• Asking for a promotion or raise
• Filling out an application
• Going on a date

Whatever it is that's trying to intimidate you . . . commit to do it!

A major difference between the successful person and the unsuccessful person is that even though they had the fear, the successful person did it anyway! The unsuccessful person let the fear stop them.

How do you build your confidence to step out?

Ultimately, obtaining security and confidence is an inside job. You won't find it through a change of external circumstances (once you lose weight, find the right spouse, get a better job, buy a newer car, etc). Once confidence is developed on the inside, it will show up on the outside.

How do you grow your confidence from the inside out? You have to be very specific about what you allow into your mind. Don't just leave the TV on for hours. Don't just allow anyone to speak into your life. Fill your mind (on purpose) with the Word of God.

If you lay down at night and your mind is racing with hopelessness, fear, anxiety, dread, regret, etc, then you're not feeding your mind enough of the Word of God.

Look at what God is saying to you today from Isaiah 41:10 (AMP),
"Fear not, there is nothing to fear."

God's Word produces faith just like Satan's word produces fear. How do you obtain more faith? Romans 10:17 says that "faith comes by hearing." One of the best things you'll ever do is develop a daily routine of listening to faith-building resources.

As you maintain this steady diet of hearing the Word, Hebrews 11:1 says that "Faith is the confidence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is your confidence! Confidence comes by hearing the Word.

Remember that nothing will change in your life until you change your thinking about yourself. It's time for you to be the one who steps out in faith, takes risks, seizes opportunities, and lives your dreams.
