Galatians 3:13-14: "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

The blessing of Abraham is three-fold. It is spiritual, physical, and financial. Galatians 3:29 says, "If ye be Christ's then are you Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise." That means you are blessed spiritually, physically, and financially.

Obedience is the key to fully receiving Abraham's blessings. Abraham was obedient to God. He started out messing up royally. Finally, he eventually decided to do things God's way. The good news is that God was patient with him. Even though Abraham messed up, God still honored the covenant throughout Abraham's life.

We said there was a spiritual blessing. Since Abraham was obedient in tithing, he was positioned for spiritual blessings. He paid tithes to Melchisedek, King of Salem, priest of the Most High God. As a result, Melchisedek blessed Abraham.

That blessing was evident throughout Abraham's life. Another spiritual blessing is when God made a covenant with him—the most prominent blessing of all, that through his seed, all the families of the earth would be blessed. And if God was in covenant with Abraham, then He is in covenant with you, because you belong to Christ. It is yours when you obey. The blessing is yours.

Divine protection is a physical blessing. God protected Abraham from his enemies, causing him to triumph over them. Also, he lived a long life and in peace. He was healthy, able to produce six more children, and even his children were greatly blessed.

These same blessings belong to you. God protects you from danger. You can live long and live in peace, with a healthy body. And your children will be more blessed than you are, when you are obedient to the Word of God.

Genesis 13:2 speaks for itself: "And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold." He had so much that he and Lot had to part camps. His obedience to tithe also resulted in financial and material wealth.

Now, as we study through this, whenever you see Abraham's blessing, say, "That's me." Jesus Christ is Abraham's seed. You belong to Christ; therefore you are Abraham's seed and heir according to the promise. The physical blessing is yours. The spiritual blessing is yours. The financial blessing is yours, because God is in covenant with you.
