In John, Chapter 14, it says "the name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it. They are saved." The literal Hebrew says that they are lifted to a lofty position. So, when you're operating in the name of the Lord, you get lifted up above what you can do, humanly.

You get over into what the power that the name can do. In John 14:13, Jesus said, "Whatsoever you shall demand in my name." Now, he's not talking about we come and demand of God like some spoiled children and say, "give it to me or else."

The demand that he's talking about is two things: first of all, it's making a demand on the enemy who's trying to keep back from you that which he stole from you in the first place. The second thing is, put pressure on the Word; because the Word works, for anybody who would dare put it to work. So, Jesus said, "in My Name, whatever you ask the Father, I will do it."

The name of Jesus is the key that unlocks heaven. It's the name of Jesus that frightens Satan to death. The name of Jesus has authority in three worlds: Heaven, earth and hell.

The great part of that is that he's given that name into our possession. The name of Jesus is not some euphemism to be used, some word to tie together, some expression. The name of Jesus is not like John, and it's not Keith, and it's not like Paul or any other name.

That name was won by conquest. That name was given by inheritance. That name was conferred upon him. That name has power in it. The name, Jesus means, "Savior."

In the Old Testament, names would describe a characteristic of you, or what your mission was.

In Matthew, Chapter 1, that angel told that woman, Mary, and told her husband, Joseph, "thou shall have a son and thou shall call his name, Jesus, which means, Savior, for he will save his people from their sins."

He is called Jesus, Savior, because we needed saving. Because we needed to be saved from ourselves; and the death that came along with our sins, God sent us one. From the time he was born, they called him Savior. When he was in the manger, they called him Savior. When he was a three year-old child, they called him Savior. When he was twenty years old, they called him Savior.

When he was thirty, he went and got into that Jordan River and the anointing of God came upon him, and the Savior began his ministry. He began to walk on the earth and lay hands on the sick. He began to cast out devils. He began to raise the dead. He began to let the world know that there's only God; and that he is the representative of God, the Father.

He is the Savior for you, and he is the Savior for me. There is nothing that you may be bound by that the Savior can't loose you from. He is the Savior of your life, and he is the lover of your soul. That angel said it, rightly: "His name is Jesus. He is the Savior."

Jesus' name is far above anything in this world, and that which is to come. That means, the name of Jesus is higher than the name Cancer; and the name of Jesus is higher than the name Sickle-cell Anemia.

The name of Jesus is higher than the name of drugs. The name of Jesus is higher than the names of adultery and divorce. The name of Jesus is higher than pain. The name of Jesus is higher than whatever malady you may face. There is power in that name. There's ability in that name. There's anointing in that name. The manifestation of God is in that name.

When a believer recognizes the holiness of the name, and has faith in the name; they can make a demand of the Father in that name and it will be so. God said, "I will do it."

Now, turn to Colossians, Chapter 2.

Thank God for the name of Jesus. Jesus on that cross, was made to be sin for you and I. He was suspended between heaven and earth. Somebody said, he was hung up for our hang-ups. He bore all of our sins, sicknesses and diseases on that tree, and he was made to be sin for us. He knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

He was hung up, he hung his head, and died. Before he did it, he said, "Father, why have you forsaken me?" Sin came on him. Religious people don't like this. They don't want to hear this kind of preaching. They say, how could the Savior become sin. Because he came for us, that's why.

We were sin, and he swapped places for us. He was the righteous Son of God, and he swapped with us his righteousness and took our sin. He swapped with us, and became it for us. We were deserving of going to hell and burning there for all of eternity.

He went to hell in our place. For untold agony, Jesus, went through in the bottom of the pit. Hell, itself, paid the penalty that you and I deserve. On that third day, I believe there was party going on in hell. They thought they had him; they thought they had the Holy One. I believe they were all there, taunting Jesus; but then, Jesus in the pit of hell, the Father said, it's enough. The claims of justice has been satisfied.

Whatever God can do, the name of Jesus can do. He gave the church his name. The 16th chapter of Mark says, "believers shall lay hands on the sick in my name. Believers shall cast out devils in my name. If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, in my name."

Whatever God can do, his name can do; and you can cash in on whatever you need. The difference between God and I, is that there is a limit on what I can do. There is no limit to what God can do through the name of Jesus.

If you need healing, he'll cash it for you. If you need joy, he'll cash it for you. If you need peace, he'll cash it for you. If you need money, he'll cash it for you, whatever you need. The name, Jesus. Glory to God, wherever you go, take the name with you.

Don't be caught without the name. Use the name in faith, glory to God. When you speak the name of Jesus, demons began to tremble. They remember the beating they got in the pit of hell. They know the power in the name

If a police cruiser pulls out and that officer gets out of that car and says to stop, I guarantee you, all of you will stop. You know why? Because you know what's behind that badge; and you don't want any part of that.

Well, you don't have enough strength to whip a baby demon with one hand tied behind his back; but you don't have to. God gave you a uniform that's white instead of blue. It's been washed in the detergent of the Blood of the Lamb.

He put a badge on your chest that says, "Kingdom of God" and Jesus is Lord. When you demand of the devil: "Stop, in the name of Jesus and give me back my wife; give me back my son; give back my daughter; give me back my healing; give me back my money," they are afraid of what is behind you.

It is all the power of heaven. The devil doesn't want anything to do with that. He's trying to keep you from standing up, standing for your rights. We know who we are, and we know what God has done. That's why we've got to shout!
