Evil men will be swept away by the storm, but the righteous man will stand forever.

"When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever" (Prov. 10:25).

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe" (Prov. 18:10).

"He is like a tree planted by the streams of water" (Ps. 1:3).

Righteous means "in right standing with God."

A couple visiting Switzerland were killed in a fall over a mountain. They tried to do it on their own without a guide who was trained in this area. How foolish they were to undertake such a venture, lacking the knowledge, skill, and experience.

Yet, sometimes we are equally foolish and swept away by the storms of life. We try to direct our own ways and we come to disaster. We try to make life's journey without our Guide. We try to learn on our own wisdom or that of a friend. Reliance on God brings guidance from Him.

Like a mighty oak tree that has been well planted and cared for, God has planted us. Remember, we have been planted. We will be fruitful in due time.
