"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Gen. 2:7 KJV).

Why did God create the man before He created the woman? Did God miss it? Maybe He had a long day that day and just wanted to create one at a time. Why didn't God create man and woman at the same time?

We are going to find that out today.

Everything in the Bible is written to teach us something. The reason He created man before He created woman was to establish godly priorities in every person's life. The first priority is your relationship with God.

The second relationship that you should establish is your relationship with people. The scripture is teaching you that you must have a close relationship with God if you ever want a good relationship with another individual.

If you try to do it the other way around you will have a hard time hearing from God.

Another reason God created man before he created woman was to teach the man how to care for His wife. When the woman came along, he would know how to take care of her because he had spent so much time with his Father.

The Bible says that God walked with Adam in the cool of the garden. Can you imagine every morning that Adam woke up, God was sitting there in the garden saying are you ready to live this day today? We have got some things to do today.

Just think, Adam could not have named every animal, or every tree that was in the garden. Think about how many insects there are, and how many animals there are in the earth.

However, the assignment to name all the animals was not bigger than the relationship that he had with his Father. The wisdom to do it came out of His fellowship with the Creator of them.

Likewise, the wisdom to live in and tend the garden, as well as the wisdom to take care of Eve, all stemmed out of Adam's close relationship with God.
