"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory" (Eph. 1:13-14 KJV).

We have a down payment on our complete salvation. So we get to see and know some things now. But the day is coming when we'll be with God and nothing shall be unknown to us. But the Holy Spirit is the beginning of His glory.

The purchased possession is the body. Now this is a prayer of supplication for the saints. Paul wants the saints to know what their calling is. What the Father has done for them. He wants them to be able to see it, and have hope for the future. He is praying that they get to find out how much power they really have and how to use it.

He is praying that you know how much power Jesus had over death. And how much power you have over death. Jesus took from Satan the keys of death, hell and the grave.

We read in Hebrews chapter two that we no longer have to fear death. It said Satan had (past tense) the power of death. He doesn't have the power of death anymore. It has been taken from him. If he could have done away with you he would have done it by now. But he could not.

If you don't cooperate with his plan, he can't do anything to you. And if you listen to God, you'll overcome the enemy every time. Now that's something to laugh and shout about!

Death has been defeated, and we shall never die. Now, your body will die, but you, the real you will never die. You are not the body, and you are going to live forever! So you don't have to fear death, because of the power that is at work in you.

Well, Paul prayed that you will know about the power that raised Jesus from the dead, and the power that sat Him at God's own right hand in heavenly places far above all principalities, powers, might, and dominion.

Jesus is seated over all demon spirits, and over every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. You need to know about the power that is greater than cancer, greater than debt, greater than tuberculosis, greater than sickle cell, greater than affliction. That power is greater than anything, and the name that is above every name is Jesus!

God has given you that power that is effective, not only in this world but in the world to come. There is no name higher than the name of Jesus. So, I am praying that you understand that all things are under your feet. That is the prayer that you should pray for all people.
