"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" (Matt. 24:6).

See to it that you are not troubled. Jesus is your protector, your provider, your way-maker.

We see Jesus and His disciples in Matthew 24. They asked Him in verse 3, "...what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"

In response, He tells them several things that point to those times. One of which is that you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. That being said, Jesus makes this statement: "See that you be not troubled. For all these things must come to pass. But the end is not yet."

And by the way, He was not making a suggestion. This is a commandment.

In looking up the word "troubled," I found that it means to wale, to clamour, or to be frightened. He said see to it that you don't cry, nor be someone who allows themselves to be frightened.

That's what I've been hearing in recent days. People are talking about how frightened they are about the future, and what they think the future is going to be. But we must not be in fear about the future. We must continue to operate in faith.

My wife told me something that the Lord shared with her. He told her, "When you allow fear to dominate your thoughts, your will and your emotions, you will end up making a choice that will cause you to miss God's best and end up with less."

Fear, terror and trouble do not come from God. However, if you yield to them, they'll cause you to make a wrong decision and wind up with less than God's best. Fear of never getting a mate will cause you to run off and get married to the wrong person. Faith will cause you to wait for the right one, God's best for you.

So even though there is talk of wars and rumors of wars, know that the end is not yet. See to it that you not be frightened. Know that Jesus sees the whole picture and He said, "You see to it that you do not allow yourself to be terrified, scared and alarmed."

He is looking for you to go to God in faith and assurance, knowing that He provides your every need, that He protects you on every side, and that you are never without Hope when Jesus is your Lord.
