Have you ever been stuck? Some people grow into being stuck and don’t even know it.

I want to share with you a principle and an application of what can get you up and keep you up. I am talking about the Law of Promotion, which says:

“If you want to be promoted to your next level, you have to become overqualified for your current position.”

How do you know you are stuck? Compare where you are right now to where you came from to where you really want to be. How long have you been where you are?

Now let me ask you another question: HOW BAD DO YOU WANT TO GET UNSTUCK? How far are you willing to go to get that promotion?

Here is one of the best tools to get you going: “Go the extra mile.” Jesus said it this way in Matt 5:41 (TAB): “And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].”

This is not talking about when a friend asks to borrow a book for a week and you say, "Oh yes, just keep it as long as you need it." That sounds really nice but the “Law of Promotion” is not in operation here.

At the time when Jesus said to go the second mile they were under Roman law and when a soldier told you to carry some of his supplies or equipment you had no choice.

The minimum requirement was to go one mile. Do you do the minimum requirement when a superior or maybe someone who isn’t nice asks you to do something for them?

This is your opportunity to pass the test, go the extra mile, and qualify for that promotion that you have been waiting for. Don’t be surprised if the test of integrity is part of your test...“doing the right thing when no one sees or knows.”

I have one more thing you can do to get yourself up and going. The angel to the church of Sardis said,

“…I know your record and what you are doing; you are supposed to be alive, but [in reality] you are dead. Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found any thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight.” (Rev 3:1-2)

In other words, get up, shake yourself off, and don’t miss any opportunity and go the extra mile whenever you can!

How much desire do you have to get that promotion? If you are stuck, then get unstuck! God has a place for you and only you. It is your responsibility!
