Are you ready to "position yourself" for a 2013?
You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.
(2 Chron. 20:17)
In the business, entrepreneurial, political and marketing world everyone is focused on positioning. Getting a certain position in the market. Positioning your brand to be a niche favorite. Establishing your position in a political race. Fine-tuning your organization's position helps people understand your identity and purpose.  Gaining a top position gives your product credibility. Hertz Rental cars positioned themselves as Number One and Avis purposefully positioned themselves as Number Two. It's all about positioning.

In life — as in any business or organization's life cycle — there is a time for secular positioning, defining purpose, setting goals, branding, marketing, planning, strategizing, carrying out project plans and working hard. However, when you have done all you know to do, there is also a time to spiritually position yourself, to stand still and see the salvation of God at work in your life.

I believe 2013 is going to be that kind of year for many of God's people!

For those who have been faithfully fulfilling their purpose, setting faith goals, planning, strategizing, obeying, laboring, sacrificing, working, serving, planting, sowing and praying - perhaps you're hearing the same words from 2 Chronicles that we're hearing, "Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you ...  Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you."

In 2 Chronicles, enemy nations wanted nothing more than the destruction of King Jehoshaphat and the Israelites. It didn't look good for the Israelites. The odds were stacked against them. They sought the Lord about what to do. That's when the Lord told them to, "Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord."

Notice HOW King Jehoshaphat stood still? He found the lead singers and put them on the front lines. He didn't call for the mighty military warriors, the fighter pilots or soldiers with tanks, missiles or bullets. He called for the singers to lead the troops in singing a simple praise song with these words, 'The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.' They sang these words over and over and over as they moved towards their enemies. They got the high praises of God in their mouth and all the people got busy singing, praising and worshipping God.

Their enemies must have thought they were nuts. Can you imagine the mocking that must have gone on? "Those stupid, naive Israelites! They are out of touch with reality. This is no time for a choir to be singing — this is time for war! We will crush them!"

Israel's enemies forgot one thing: God!

When Jehoshaphat and the Israelites started singing God's praises, God got right in the middle of the battle. The Lord sent an ambush against Israel's enemies and they became so confused they destroyed each other!

What did Israel do? They positioned themselves, stood still, sang the Lord's praises and saw the salvation of God right in front of their eyes. In fact, after their enemies had destroyed themselves, the Israelites took all the valuables their enemies left behind! At the end of the day, Israel has the very best position in all the land!

How do we position ourselves for supernatural victories? In the very same way, let's look at it.

First: Position yourselves. Take up a posture of expectation and confidence. Believe it: the Lord is with you. Plant your feet. Set your heart. This year, you win!

Second: Stand still. Be at rest. No anxiety. No striving. Relax; it's not your effort that will get the job done. Be still and know He is God and on the job.

Third: See the salvation of the Lord. This is the exciting part! The Lord will do in one hour, one day or one year things you could never do, or what it could have taken you years, decades or a lifetime to do. Watch for His salvation. His salvation isn't just something for the sweet by and by. His salvation became real in your life the day you received Jesus and confessed Him as your Lord and we are able to see, perceive and experience more and more of it daily. His salvation includes more than a free ticket to heaven. His salvation literally includes: heaven's help, deliverance from things that try to defeat us, God's power to give us victory over our enemies, divine welfare, health, prosperity, peace, safety and every temporal blessing — and the biggie — being rescued from an everlasting stay in hell to spend eternal life with the Lord.

Fourth: Do not fear or be dismayed. This is no time to shrink back or be discouraged. Lean back and be at peace knowing He loves you, He has your back and He's working a plan at this very moment.

Fifth: Tomorrow, go out against them. This is where it gets fun! Tomorrow — and every day after that — do exactly what Jehoshaphat and the Israelites did — go out against your enemies with a song in your mouth! That's right, warm up your voice and start singing His praises! March toward all the enemies that came against you in 2012 with a song, a shout and a praise coming out of your mouths.

Move towards the odds that are stacked against you and sing: "The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever." Look at the enemies of discouragement, hopelessness, sadness and despair and sing, "The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever." Smile at the naysayers, the critics, the bullies, the jealous, the envious and the mean-spirited and sing, "The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever."

Hold your position. Don't quit singing. Make a playlist of all your favorite praise songs and sing every one. Burn fresh CDs of your favorite worship songs and sing them to work and back home again. Sing songs you make up from your own heart. Fill the atmosphere of your home and your car with His praises and let your heart sing continual melodies to the Lord.

Sixth: For the Lord is with you. God will go to work doing the things you cannot do. He will cause your enemies to destroy themselves. He will help you. He will rescue you. He will deliver you. He will bless you. He will turn impossible situations in your favor. He will open doors. He will close mouths. He will make a way for you. He will give you the victory!

Are you ready to "position yourself" for a 2013?

Prayer: Father, I choose to position myself to stand still and see Your salvation in 2013. I will go out towards my enemies with singing: 'The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.' Thank You for being with me and showing me Your salvation in mighty ways. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
