"For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light" (Eph. 5:8 KJV).

Do you hide your light? If so, why? Is it because you work in a secular field? Or is it because you don't want anyone to know you're a Christian? Are you worried you might hide your light out of fear that they might talk about you?

If you hide your light, you can't see the stumbling blocks Satan throws in front of you. As long as there is no light to show you where they are, you will trip, stumble, or fall over them. You have to let your light shine.

Contrary to the old popular church song, "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine," it's not a little light. I don't know about you, but I don't have a little light on the inside of me. God is a great big God; He's not little and He doesn't do anything little.

Let your light so shine; let it illuminate your pathway. That's what a light is for—to illuminate your pathway so you can walk without stumbling or falling. You can walk this Christian walk, but as you walk, realize that God didn't say you were not going to have challenges.

People will talk about you; they talked about Jesus, so why should you get so bent out of shape if they talk about you. The scripture says that no weapon formed against you will prosper. Yes, the devil will form some weapons just for you, but they will not succeed.

Many times, as you walk this walk, you may end up in a valley. But the Bible says you have to walk through the valley—not camp out, lay down, or cry in it. You can't stop to pull people in the valley with you either. You just keep walking. If you don't, you won't come out. There will always be things that come across your path, but you won't stumble or fall if you allow the light to shine forth in your life.

God is greater than any weapon Satan forms against you. God is on the inside of you. He is your light. Let Him illuminate your pathway.
