God doesn't keep anything from us. Instead, He keeps things in secret for us, for our benefit. Let me explain. Psalm 78:2 and Matthew 13:35 tell us that prophets speak the hidden things that have been ordained from the foundation of the world.

A prophet is someone who declares God's Word. The Bible says that as believers, we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery for our glory (1 Cor. 2:7 AMP).

When you and I confess God's wisdom, His Word, we become the prophets over our destinies. To confess means to "say the same thing as, or to admit."

According to 1 Corinthians 2:12-13, "We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth...." The Holy Spirit helps us to speak hidden wisdom in order to know and receive what God has freely given us.

Romans 8:26 says that the Spirit helps us in our infirmities (or weaknesses) in prayer, especially when we don't know what to pray for. He does this by praying God's perfect will through us (vs. 26-27). Verse 26 tells us, "...the Spirit [Himself] maketh intercession for us with groanings, which cannot be uttered."

These "groanings" refer to the spiritual language called tongues, which cannot be understood solely through our human understanding. Acts 2:1-4 tells us that on the day of Pentecost, the disciples and other followers of Jesus were filled with God's Spirit, and began speaking in other tongues (or languages).

This was the spiritual empowerment Jesus promised they would receive (Acts 1:8). The Amplified Bible in 1 Corinthians 14:2 says, "For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]."

Through speaking in tongues, the Holy Spirit is able to reveal to us the hidden truths concerning God and His way of doing things (John 16:13; 1 Cor. 2:10).

Praying in the Spirit connects you to God like nothing else can. Simply put, speaking in tongues allows you to tap directly into God's wisdom, even though you do not know what you are saying. It is the "Morse code" that the devil is unable to intercept.

You can transmit top-secret information directly to heaven, and God will respond with the manifestation of what you've spoken in tongues. However, you must do it in faith. You must believe in your heart that you have already received the physical manifestation of what you've prayed for in tongues before you actually receive anything.
