What Does The Future Hold?
The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been about 200 years. Most of these nations progressed through the following stages until their demise. Will this be Australia’s future also?

1. From Bondage to Spiritual Faith. From Spiritual Faith to Great Courage;
2. From Courage to Liberty, From Liberty to Abundance.
3. From Abundance to Selfishness; From Selfishness to Complacency.
4. From Complacency to Apathy; From Apathy to Dependency.
5. From Dependency back into Bondage!” (author unknown).

Humble Ourselves And Pray!
The Bible clearly declares that prayer can make a difference in guiding a nation. Second Chronicles 7:14 says:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.                          

Notice something very important here, God did not say that He would heal the land when everyone got saved! He did not say that He would heal the land when the righteous were in authority. He did not even say that He would heal the land when everyone was living right for God. No, He said: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray….” 

That’s when things will change, that is when things will begin to happen—when we lift our voices in prayer! When we lift our voices to God and earnestly pray it will make a difference. You and I can make a difference! You and I can do something that will affect our nation—Australia and that is to pray! We can open the windows of heaven over this great land of Australia.

We can open a door for God to bless us by the place we take in prayer! Our prayers—yours and mine—can make a difference.

Our prayers—yours and mine—are impacting our society and allowing God to intervene and work in this great nation. They help bring about His will for Australia. So hold fast to it, do not grow weary in well doing. The blessing of God on this nation is not a forgotten dream, or just some historical heritage that we look longing back on. The blessing of God is for the now! The blessing of God can shape this generation, this century and our future! We can make a difference if we lift our voices in both the natural and the spiritual realm!

The Most Powerful Position In The Land
I have said this for years; look back on some of my past newsletters, the most powerful position in the nation is not Parliament House in Canberra. It’s not the United Nations, Washington D.C, or Canberra—it is on our knees making earnest prayers to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, interceding for our nation, our homeland—Australia! If we are faithful to do that we will see change and we will seeGod move in our land. We can and will see great things happen!

Let me challenge you again to make the decision to pray daily for our nation and its leaders. Then, and only then, will we begin to see our nation return to its roots and Christian heritage. Then, and only then, will we begin to see the Lord move and heal our land. Then God will bless us and we will prosper and live in peace!
