In the legendary song, "Your Cheating Heart," sung by Hank Williams, one of the lines said, "Your cheatin' heart will tell on you...." Boy, isn't that the truth?

Why do men cheat when they have it good with a beautiful wife and a loving family? The reason is most men do not know how to deal with a cheating brain, and furthermore, they do not know that they will fight their imagination all their life.

Why do men risk everything including their honor for sex? The main reason is found in their brain; mainly his imagination is totally different from the mind of a woman because his mind is badgered by images of sex and lustful desires.

The reason why men do what they do has to do with the feel good chemicals inside of the brain, which become fed by images that it has seen and what it is going to see.

The sad thing about the New York Governor was that he got caught and hooked by his imaginary world.  Most men have thought about it and most men would do the same thing if they knew they would not get caught.

It seems that the most powerful men have dark sides in their imagination, but it does go with power and every step up in power, it seems that a new level of battle rages against their mind.

The truth is, if you go up, you must go up through women and temptations because every step of the way the desire becomes a battle to the mind of men and one must withstand the self-gratifying desire to fulfill oneself.

The deception goes with the power that men have. The more power they have, the more they think they can get away with. Now men may never admit what I am telling them, but it is the truth. This is why men, with so much power or leadership ability, are tempted with the desire to be a philanderer.

Brain addictions may sound like a good excuse, but it is a fact that all addictions are in the brain and desire to be fed and to stay full. Porn is one of the foods that a male's brain desires to have.

Cheating men cheat in the mind before their cheating becomes an action. Men desire power, leadership, wealth, and with it, the desire of sex with the risk of doing something they can get away with.

The mind tells them that they can live above the rules and get away with it, but in time, like the Hank Williams' song says, "Your cheatin' heart will make you weep, you'll cry and cry and try to sleep, but slee-eep won't come the whole night through...." so you see the sad story of lust and power go hand in hand.

Marvin Zuckerman , a pioneering psychologist and author of the 2006 book, Sensation Seeking and Risky Behavior, writes that there's chemical evidence: Sensation seekers have lower levels of monoamine oxidase A, which regulates the brain's levels of dopamine, the "pleasure" neurotransmitter.

Cheating men have the desire to take greater risk and most of them are very successful in business. It all flows out of the same side of the brain. They become a sensation seeker and the glands in the brain demand actions or fulfillment.

Now the Christian man still falls into the same battle inside his brain. Just because he goes to church does not mean he is home-free. If the truth be told, he just sits around the church and feeds his inner desire by looking at women within the walls of the church.

Eye-driven men have to feed the imagination, and it goes with the risk of being caught, but that is part of the sensation. Once you see how the brain and the mind operate, you can avoid becoming entrapped, but you will have to train the brain by starving the eyes.

Starvation is never a good thing. No one wants to starve yourself to death, but that is exactly what you have to do when it comes to the cheating brain.

Here are a few tips for Men Only:
  1. Read up and study how all men think so you won't think you are the only one out there with a funky brain. All men have one.
  2. It all begins with desire. You must come to the place in your life that you desire to master your mind instead of it mastering you.
  3. Knowledge will lead you to freedom, denial keeps you in bondage. Once you drag your hidden thoughts into the light, they are almost under your control at that point.
  4. Secrets keep you sick. God heals what you reveal. I am not saying you should tell everybody about what is going on within your mind, but you should find a men's group that teaches the path to freedom.

This is the reason why we have our Locker Room Talk "Men's Club" membership. As a member, you receive monthly audio lessons, outlines for group study, and scripture power cards. We have found that men need teaching on this subject so we make it available to help you expose the addiction and to defeat it before it becomes an action.
  5. Isolation brings defeat. Men need a group of men to talk about these kinds of things, which helps them to know that all men are faced with the same thing, but it can be conquered and controlled. Fear keeps men apart and knowledge brings them together.
  6. The 3-Second Rule. This teaching was introduced to our men's group and it has been a great help. It teaches us that we have 3 seconds to look the other way when our eyes desire to look at things, such as women's breasts or rear ends. You have three fast seconds to turn your head and say to your eyes, "No, you are not going to rule me."
  7. Feed your faith and starve your imagination to death. Don't feed your imagnination the wrong stuff, such as Victoria Secrets magazine or porn on the internet. Feed your faith and learn how to cast down imaginations and thoughts that are not in line with the Word of God.

Learn to speak to thoughts and tell them that your spirit man is in control and those lewd thoughts are no longer welcome.
Lust is the heroin of the imagination. If you desire to be clean and free from the addiction, one must understand the battle within the mind and how you must hold yourself accountable to others.

Lust is not something that you cast out. Lust is something that you drive out and master. If not, it will bring you to ruin and master you. Find a men's group that teaches the path to freedom, and I would encourage you to read the book that is called, Every Man's Battle. It is a great tool and it was the first book that I read on the subject.
