Meditating on the Word and continually speaking it day and night is your key to success and prosperity. However, this practice is not limited to adults only. Your children can also reap the benefits of putting the Word to work in their lives.

Children are not immune from world events. As parents, it is your responsibility to teach them how to guard against the enemy's attacks. They need to be equipped with the Word of God so when they hear about terrorist activity or natural calamities such as earthquakes and tornadoes, they will not be gripped with fear.

1. Teach Children Their Authority in Christ
The first step in teaching your children their authority in Christ is to introduce them to Jesus through the Scriptures. Take time every day to read the Bible with them—specifically the accounts of Jesus and His ministry.

In doing so, they will begin to relate to Jesus as a real person Who wants to be an active force in their lives.

2. Show Them Their Authority
Second, show them, in the Bible, that they have authority over the devil. Jesus said in Matthew 18:18-19:
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
(Matt. 18:18-19)
Encourage your children to take action with the Word when they encounter evil. For example, if they come home and tell you that the school bully was picking on or threatening them, stand in agreement with them for the situation to be resolved and have them bind the spirit operating through that particular student.

By setting such an example, you will train them to walk in their authority when you aren't around. First Peter 2:24 says,
"...Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
(Peter 2:24)
You can show your kids, by your example, how to lay hands on themselves or others so that God's healing power can touch them (Mark 16:18).

3. Act on God's Word!
The key is to get them to activate their faith by acting out on God's Word. Empower them by letting them know that they can appropriate the promises of God and take authority over the devil in the name of Jesus. They can act the same way Jesus did!

Make the most of every opportunity to plant scriptures in their spirits that will instill this authority in them. When they see you confessing God's Word, they will follow suit. When situations or people try to challenge that authority, they will know the path to victory.
