Chanchi was on a quest. Like many teens growing up in Southeast Asia, he had tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. He tried Buddhism, meditation, and just about every other religion you can think of, but the inner peace that he sought still eluded him. Was there any hope?

Now, Chanchi found himself lying in a grassy field in Vietnam, staring up at the sky. "God, if you're real, show yourself to me!" he cried out in frustration. Chanchi had no idea if God even existed, much less heard his cry. But he would soon find out.

A short time later, Chanchi was walking down a crowded street when, suddenly, a strange hand reached toward him with a small piece of paper. Chanchi looked up to see a smiling face; he took the flyer and shoved it in his pocket.

It wasn't until later that evening, as he was emptying his pockets, that he noticed the flyer again and began reading it. That night, Chanchi asked Jesus to come into his heart. His quest had finally come to an end—he finally found true peace!

I met Chanchi in Bangkok, Thailand several years later during our crusade there. He is now a Bible school graduate and a powerful minister who is leading thousands of people to Christ. Like so many other teenagers and young adults in Asia—and around the world—Chanchi had a strong call of God on his life.

The problem is that many young people are not living out that call. They have a longing deep inside of them, but no idea how to fulfill it. They are a generation with unprecedented access to technology, politics, business opportunities... but they are still looking for something real. They are still on a quest.

We can reach this global generation! Never before in history has there been a generation around the world that is in such a perfect position to be reached. They are open-minded. They are not blindingly accepting their parents' religion—in fact, many are rebelling against it.

They are determined to find truth on their own. And that's good news for us because we have the real truth!

It only took one person's obedience to reach Chanchi, and now he is making an impact on the nation of Thailand. How many other Chanchis are out there, just waiting for someone to bring them the truth? How many other young people in Vietnam are still on a quest for peace? What about in Japan? The Philippines? El Salvador? South Africa?

What an incredible opportunity we have to reach a generation of young people around the world who are looking for truth! If we each find our place in God's plan—if we are each obedient to God's call on our life—we can reach this generation. We can go global!
