The Rally Synopsis
The Rally is a gritty drama which follows several families living in a town riddled with crime and corruption. As the local church works to bring positive change to the town, they are confronted at every turn by those that desire to keep the city in bondage...until today. God has sent a team into the city to bring change.

One Event... One Church... One God... The Rally.

Directed by Rick Reyna, The Rally was shot in early 2009. The idea for the movie has been in Rick’s heart for many years. For seven years in Hollywood, Rick worked with names such as Michael Mann and Al Pacino. The Lord called him out of Hollywood to begin working full-time in the ministry, but with one stipulation: “Someday the Lord will have us make him a movie.” With that, Rick continued to preach the gospel, seeing thousands come to Christ as a result of his rallies.

In early 2007, Rick developed the concept for the story and shot a teaser trailer to help promote and generate buzz about the upcoming film. From there it was “steady as she goes” as he built and put together the pieces to make the film.

By July 2008, he was ready to send his story and concept to the screenwriters, and by September he had a full screenplay ready to shoot.

Thus began a year in filmmaking.

One Million Souls
For Rick and the production team, it was—-and is—-more than just a great opportunity to work on a film; it was an opportunity to be a part of something that will see one million souls come into the kingdom of God.

During our first cast and crew meeting, we were privileged to have a “keynote” speaker who has been involved with TV/Film production for over thirty years. Terri Copeland Pearsons, who is now pastoring Eagle Mountain International Church with her husband, George Pearsons, came and spoke to the crew and launched them into filming.

Everything about this production, from start to finish, has been about reaching souls. From the onset, we have endeavored to communicate to all the actors and crew that we are doing this for the purpose of seeing the lives of people changed forever.

Casting The Film
Movies are about entertainment—-and, of course, we want people in the theater seats to enjoy themselves, be moved, and be inspired—-but we also want them to see themselves in each of the characters and identify with them.

Each character represents someone in the real world. Each characteristic, each problem that is faced, each circumstance is meant to reflect the things everyday people deal with. That is why we had to cast the right people.

Born and raised in the Mission District of Northern California, T-Bone came to the project with a great deal of experience in the entertainment industry. Being a successful rap artist for over fifteen years and having starred alongside Beyoncé Knowles and Cuba Gooding Jr. in the movie The Fighting Temptations, he has brought to the set and his character a rich background and understanding of the role.

Originally, the part of Sarka was as an older gangster who has been running the city into the ground by crime, drugs and prostitution. Once T-Bone came in to audition, we knew we could not pass up what T-Bone was bringing to the table. T-Bone was so right for the part that we rewrote the character as a younger gangster who, after his father had left him with a choice, decided to continue in the ways of his father. Adapting the script and character allowed for a great opportunity to cast yet another great actor.

Kenneth Copeland world-renowned minister of the gospel, is also no stranger to the life of filmmaking. Having starred in six movies himself, he brought something very special to the set—-not just a great sense of professionalism, but a creative approach to his character, which made alive his character and the story we were telling.

He understood where his character was coming from. He understood the deep choices his character would have to make and the consequences they would bring not only to him, but to those around him, including his son. Mr. Copeland’s execution of his character, Sarka Sr., was brilliant.

Everyone we cast in the film was amazing. Each of them brought a special piece to the project that we could not have done without. It is our hope that you truly enjoy this film and that your life will be changed forever.
