Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true…
(Rom 3:4 NLT)
People will tell you Superman is not real but that’s not true. Superman is real…His name is Jesus. The Superman of Detective Comics is a make-believe character. The Jesus of the Bible is real.

Super means above. Human means natural. Superhuman means to live and function above the natural, physical world.

Jesus lived and operated above this natural, physical world (Mk. 4:39 NIV) and so should we (John 14:12). Let’s see if Jesus and The Man of Steel have anything in common:

Jesus came from the planet Heaven (Jn. 8:33). Kal-El came from the planet Krypton.

Jesus was sent to the earth by His Father (Jn. 6:38). Kal-El was sent to the earth by his father.

Jesus was raised by a step-dad (Mt. 1:18). Clark Kent was raised by step-parents.

Jesus knew He was the Savior of the world. (John 13:3 NLT). Clark Kent knew he was Superman.

Jesus and Peter walked on water (Mt. 14:28-29). General Zod, Ursa and Non (evil Kryptonians) walked on water (Superman II).

Jesus would often communicate with His Father in a quiet place (Lk. 22:39). Kal-El would often communicate with his father in a quiet place (Fortress of Solitude).

Jesus had the twelve followers (Mt. 10:2-4); Superman had the Justice League of America:

Batman David – 1 Sam. 16:8
Wonder Woman Deborah – Judg. 4:4
Green Lantern Mordecai – Est. 8:2
Aqua Man Peter - John 21:7
The Flash Philip – Acts 8:39
Martian Man Hunter Samson – Judg. 15:14
In the comics, Superman would often save the day, but he couldn’t save souls. Jesus can. If you’d like to make your day “Super” by getting saved, repeat this prayer:
Heavenly Father, I realize that if I died today I’m not sure if I’d make it into Heaven. Well I want to go to Heaven. I’m coming clean and handing the controls of my life over to Mr. Jesus Christ. I believe You brought Him up out of hell on that third day. Well, based on what I said…I’m saved. I’m not going to hell…I’m Heaven bound!  In the name of Jesus…so be it!
