Jesus loves you with an amazing love! He didn't have you born again just so He could get you off His conscience. Religion has taught people that God saves us just so we can praise Him and live for Him forever.

"I pray that you...may...grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ" (Eph. 3:17,18).

"God is love" (1 John 4:8). But be honest. Is God really love to you?

Most people think God is following them around with a big stick, ready to smack them every time they sin. Yet when you look at the life of Jesus, He went to extreme lengths to prove to us the love of God. Ultimately He even went to hell for us.

Jesus loves you with an amazing love! He didn't have you born again just so He could get you off His conscience. Religion has taught people that God saves us just so we can praise Him and live for Him forever. In other words, to satisfy His own egotistical, selfish need to have people tell Him how great He is all the time.

No! God isn't like that! Ephesians tells us that Jesus redeemed us in order to restore our fellowship with Him—both now and throughout the ages. His heart cries out to those who are in bondage to or have been hurt by sin. He knows how wonderful He can cause their lives to be. His driving compassion moves Him to be with us and to bless us.

If you haven't really experienced this love in a personal way, ask Jesus to reveal the full scope of His marvelous love for you. He will...because He loves you.1

Make Your Day Count
Today, meditate on the truth that God is love. Ask Him to reveal the unique and personal ways that He demonstrates His great love for you. Be sure to write them down in a journal for later reflection.
