Have you ever had a song go through your mind over and over like a broken record? There was a song recorded years ago called "Secret Agent Man." And for no reason I could think of, this song played over and over in my head today, until I realized that God was giving me a topic He wanted me to write about.

As soon as I said, "OK Lord," it stopped. An odd way to get inspiration for an article, but God does things His way, not mine.

Now, if you want to go somewhere without anyone being aware of your going and coming, you do it in secret, right? It might be said a secret agent man goes behind enemy lines to do his job, and all that without getting caught.

A real good one could accomplish his mission without the enemy ever knowing he had been there. This makes for visions of thrills, danger, and adventure. Well today, the Lord told me there are many secret agents all over the world. And this must stop.

Just what is He referring to? There are many Christians who are blending in so well with the world, that it's impossible to tell them from the lost and unsaved. They say they bear the name of Christ, but that's where the similarity ends.

They are "secret agents." The devil doesn't even recognize them, because they are so "secret" they even get by him. They are secret Christians. No one but that person knows he is a Christian.

That is a type of person who may or may not go to church, who may even say "amen" once in a while when they do go to church. But when they get outside the church doors, they go into secret agent mode again.

There is no outward, or even inward evidence of them being a Christian, except perhaps for their little "wwjd" pin. I saw a cartoon recently of a man on his deathbed, with the preacher standing nearby telling him to renounce the devil. He refused, saying, "I ain't in any condition to antagonize the devil!"

Maybe fear is what keeps many Christians in "secret agent man" mode. They don't want to stir up the devil.

Perhaps they've read Matthew 13:20-21 which says, "But he that received the seed in stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended."

And they, being like water, taking the path of least resistance, will miss out on eternal life. Fear keeps them from being what God has called them to be.

You see, many, many people who could be powerful Christians, and mightily used by the Lord behind enemy lines, go underground for fear of the devil giving them trouble. They think it's enough to speak Christian to their Christian friends while in church, but they wouldn't think of blowing their cover by speaking of the Lord outside of a church setting.

Be aware: this mission is dangerous. It could cost you your life. If you choose to accept this assignment of giving up your "secret agent man" status, confessing Christ Jesus before men, you will face trials and tribulation for the sake of the Word of God in you, but in the end, inherit eternal life!

You will have to stay in the secret place of the Most High, and trust in God to deliver you and protect you, which He will, if you have faith in Him.

However, if you choose to decline this mission, and keep your "secret agent man" status, and deny knowing God before men, you may escape trials for the time being, but in the end, you lose, for you will have your part in the Lake of fire.

This message will self-destruct at the end of your lifetime, and from there, you will have no further opportunity to be saved. Choose carefully.

Final instructions, should you choose to accept this mission, pray this prayer, "Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive my sins and be my Lord and Savior. I ask you to come into my heart and give me boldness to be your witness before men. Thank You Lord, amen."
