"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Cor. 4:4).

Men were blinded to the light of the Gospel back in Bible times and they are blinded now. When people's hearts and minds are blinded, they can't see Jesus for who He really is. Therefore, people try to explain it or try to logically figure it out, but they can't because Jesus speaks the language of the heart.

Maybe you have a hard time telling people about Jesus. You try to logically lay it all out there, when, really, Jesus is speaking the language of the heart. He's wanting to get into people's hearts, not just their minds. He wants you to fill your mind with His Word once you have Him in your heart, but first you have to get Him in your heart.

Jesus has chosen to bypass the mind, bypass logic, and get into people's hearts. Satan has blinded people's eyes so much that many times they will have amazing opportunities to see the work of God right in front of their face, yet they don't even recognize it. It is sad, but I believe that Satan has blinded the eyes of many people in today's churches who call themselves Christians. They go through the motions and they believe everything in their head, but their eyes are blinded to just how awesome and incredible Jesus is.

They are saved because they don't want to go to hell, but they never enjoy a passionate, fervent relationship with the living God. In their mind they're convinced, but their life and their heart are not changed. Jesus gave His life to give us a converted, changed life on the inside. He paid the price to give us a new heart. Continue to ask God to open your eyes, so in no way are you blinded to the truth of the Gospel like many people in this world are.

In Matthew 16:17, when Jesus told Peter that flesh and blood did not reveal to him who He was, but rather His Father in heaven, it helped Peter to understand how he came to this realization. This wasn't something that Jesus had carefully explained to him. Jesus wasn't in Sunday school every day trying to convince Peter that He was the Son of God. This had been revealed to Peter by God the Father.

If you haven't gotten it yet, it's time to let God convince you. He wants to reveal Himself to you. He wants to remove the blinders from your spiritual eyes so you can get a glimpse of Jesus. And when you get a glimpse of Jesus and see Him for who He really is, you'll never be the same again.
