One of our greatest tools for sowing and harvesting is our financial giving. Think about what money really is. It is a person's life in seed form. We give of our time and labor or ideas to gain our money. Now, through our money, we can sow our lives into many areas of the kingdom.

When we sow for promoting the Word, we are setting increase in motion. Giving in this way is a spiritual thing which God receives and multiplies. When we give, our money leaves our hands, but it never leaves our lives. It leaves our present situation, and it enters our future. God can add to what you have, but He can multiply what you give.

Jesus demonstrated this one day as He was teaching and healing a multitude of people. They had been ministering into the evening and the people were hungry. Notice what He did:
When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food." But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat," and they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." He said, "Bring them here to Me." Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass.  And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
(Matt. 14:15-20)
Jesus told the disciples to take what they had and give it to Him. What they had in their hands was actually food that belonged to a young man present. Jesus blessed what they gave Him and gave it back to them. But now there was a difference.

Once again, the disciples had in their hands the loaves and fish, only this time it was blessed and able to be multiplied. The disciples began giving the food to the people until everyone was full.  They went from not having enough to having more than enough. And they did it by following one simple instruction. Jesus said, "Bring them here to Me." If what you have in your hands does not meet your need—it may be your seed.

Give God Something to Work With
The disciples did not have enough to meet the need, so Jesus said to give what they had to Him.  He has established the laws of His kingdom to bring you into a place of abundant supply, but you must put something in His hands.

This miracle supply happened right before their eyes. That is not always the way increase comes, but increase always comes. Galatians 6:9 says, "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." You must not give up but continue to sow and expect the harvest. Due season always comes!

Your increase is in your hands in seed form. Plant what you have and watch it grow.
