Thanksgiving should not be an occasional acknowledgment of God's hand on your life. Neither should it be relegated to the clapping of hands and singing of praise.

Rather, thanksgiving is a continual and genuine demonstration of appreciation for the acts of God in your life. It's time for believers to take thanksgiving out of the occasional and instead make it a lifestyle.

Thanks In It, Not For It
First Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." Notice that the author says in everything give thanks; not for everything.

In other words, when the storms of life come your way, you are to give thanks in the midst of them, not for the storms themselves. This positions you to receive assistance from God.

Psalm 22:3 says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." In fact, thanksgiving is a powerful weapon you can use against the enemy. In the midst of adversity it guarantees your victory.

More To It Than Meets The Eye
Thanksgiving also causes you to experience multiplication and increase (Ps. 67:5-7). The giving of thanks can be compared to rain. While rain causes natural vegetation to bud and bring forth fruit, thanksgiving will water your spiritual seed and bring forth a harvest.

Many Christians don't feel as though they are capable of dealing with their own problems without external assistance. As a result, they go from one person or organization to the next, seeking a solution to their challenges.

Thanksgiving will help you to realize that you have a direct connection to heaven and that God hears your prayers.

God is waiting to receive your thanksgiving to perfect His plan and purpose for your life. Regardless of what you may be going through, begin to thank God. When you do, you will experience the release of the supernatural.

Finally, always remember that Jesus is Lord, and "…in all your getting, get understanding."
