Are there Old Testament prophecies (predictions) that foretold the birth of the Messiah, Jesus?

The fourth of five prophecies deals with the event of children being killed by Herod. Herod ordered this done in order to try and kill the child, Jesus. As we discovered yesterday, an angel told Joseph to flee with Jesus into Egypt so that Herod would not kill Him. The following prophecy was given over five hundred years before Jesus was born.

The Prophecy:
"Thus says the LORD: 'A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more'" (Jer. 31:15 NKJ).

The Fulfillment:
"Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: 'A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they were no more'" (Matt. 2:16-18 NKJ).
