Are you quick to show appreciation to your staff when a job is well done?

King Solomon wrote, "Bright eyes gladden the heart; Good news puts fat on the bones" (Prov. 15:30 NASB).

Demonstrating genuine appreciation for a job well done will keep staff well motivated.

When you observe a store clerk being patient with a particularly difficult customer, say "You did a great job and kept your cool. Good work."

Or, "Thanks for keeping the cooking grill clean," or "You performed well by getting all the customer statements mailed yesterday, our payments should come in faster."

Make a point of reinforcing something positive to each person every day—and watch morale soar.
