When a customer asks a question and you don't know the answer, how do you respond?

King Solomon wrote, "A fool multiplies his words" (Eccl. 10:14 NASB).

We may feel foolish when a customer asks a question and we don't have the answer. However, better to confirm and understand the question than to say, "I will need to check that out and get back to you."

Ensure you gather any other questions and tell the customer when you will respond with the information.

If you're late, get back to the customer and confirm you are still working on the issue.

Customers always prefer the correct and thorough answer rather than the quick, foolish answer.
