When you discipline a staff member, do you act quickly or drag out the matter?

Solomon wrote, "Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, the hearts...are given fully to do evil" (Eccl. 8:11 NASB).

When an employee steps out of line, act quickly. Time will rewrite the main facts in the offender's memory and diminish the effectiveness of your discipline.

Further, others will observe your leadership—if you fail to act, in their eyes, they will believe the infractions are OK.

Your swift and fair discipline will keep staff in line and your business on top.
