When promoting employees to management, are you clear that you expect much more in maturity?

Paul wrote, "When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man I did away with childish things" (1 Cor. 13:11 NASB).

The jump into the management ranks requires an entirely different perspective by an employee.

Before promoting an individual, carefully explain the increased responsibility and how the increased responsibility must be manifested by a manager.

Promote only those who understand, grasp and truly desire the new role.

Great managers will follow!
