We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.(2 Cor. 4:13)
Now more than ever we need to speak the Word over every circumstance and situation. We need to apply God’s principles in our lives. Confessing God’s promises and His word in our prayer time builds up our faith.  We need to think about, ponder, and meditate on the Word of God, on His precious promises, doing His word. We can’t afford to slack off, get spiritually lazy and passive.

Rather we are to grow in strong faith, exercising our faith muscles, and walk in the love of God, "For faith worketh by love." (Gal.5:6)  When pressure comes we need to speak out our trust in the Lord. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. We need to speak to the mountains, to the adversary, to the storm, take dominion, and enforce our God-given authority over the enemy.

The other day someone suggested that aluminum wiring in the home could cause a problem. The negative impact of his words was nullified when I immediately spoke up. “But God has set His angels round about my home and no harm shall come nigh my dwelling,” I said.  Something rose up inside of me and I spoke those faith filled words that changed the atmosphere. We need to have the fire of God in our belly!

If we believe and speak God’s word consistently, we’re giving something for God to work with. We do our part, and He does His part. Believing and speaking God’s Word over the situation releases the power of God to manifest the Word spoken. The angels hearken to the voice of His word (Ps. 103:20). We need to give voice to His word, and fortify our faith more than ever during times like these. We need to be alert, pay attention to what He says, and promptly follow the Holy Spirit.

When Hurricane Dennis came through our area in July 2006, the neighbor’s tree fell into my yard. Thank God for protecting my house and for sending help to remove the tree!

The day before Hurricane Katrina hit the mainland, after a prayer meeting in my home, I felt impressed to do something:  I took some anointing oil and went outside, anointing the trees in my yard and the trees bordering my property. I commanded the trees to stand and to live. Jesus spoke to trees so why can’t we?  The Blood of Jesus was applied, and I drew a bloodline around my property. I did not want to deal with fallen tree limbs and clean up a mess in the yard.

The winds were strong in our area, we had no power for some hours, and there were many tornado threats, etc. God again protected my home and property, with not a shingle missing, the refrigerated food stayed cold, all glory to God!  Shalom—nothing missing, nothing broken, but perfect peace dwells in my home.

Furthermore the Lord protected the trees and not one tree, tree limb, or other debris came into my yard. Glory to God!

Jesus gave us power and authority over the enemy, and we must use it. What happened to 1 John 4:4?  Greater is He that is in us than he that is the world. We can’t afford to agree with the world’s view of fear, doubt, and unbelief, and compromise our faith in Jesus Christ, the Word of God.

We are not to be led by fear but by the Word and the Spirit. As we pray in the Spirit, we build up ourselves on our most holy faith (Jude 20).

Our faith is not to be watered down by talking about things we see in the natural or some disappointing experiences in life. Rather our faith must grow stronger as we focus on the Word of God and the Anointing. We are called to be overcomers.

Rev. 12:11 says “and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”  John writes in Rev. 2:26 “And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.”

We are victors in Christ, not victims. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”  (1 Cor. 15:57). Praise God forevermore!
