Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins the evening of Oct. 2 and ends the evening of October 4th. In Hebrew it means "The Head of the Year" and marks the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve. As the shofar is blown announcing the beginning of this new year, please join with me in praying for a sweet, peace-filled year for Israel and the global Jewish communities.

Pray their gatherings together with family and friends be a time of deep spiritual reflection and renewal of their relationship with God. Rosh Hashanah (October 2–4th) is the first of the High Holy Days, followed by Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement, October 11), Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles, October 16–23), Shmini Atzeret (Eighth Day of Assembly, October 23-24), and Simchat Torah (Day of Celebrating the Torah, October24).

Pray for Israel during these High Holy Days for a hedge of protection over air, land, sea, underground, and over all Jewish communities throughout the globe. Pray for the Israeli leadership and those in authority that they would discern and be prepared in the event of any provocations or imminent danger. On their behalf, stand in the gap and pray Psalms 121–122, 91 and Isaiah 54:17.

May Israel and the Jewish people find these days as a time of hope, renewal, and peace.
