Hebrews 5:14 (NLT)
Solid food is for those who are mature, who have trained themselves to recognize the difference between right and wrong and then do what is right.

The Bible says that mature believers have trained themselves, meaning it takes effort and sacrifice to train yourself in the things of God. How? By reading and meditating on His Word, by spending time with the Lord, getting to know Him and learning from Him.

We also mature by going through painful experiences and seeking God with all our hearts. The next part of the verse says they have trained themselves “to recognize the difference between right and wrong.” When we do the things mentioned above, we acquire God’s wisdom.

And only with His wisdom we can know clearly what is right and what is wrong. The last part of the verse says that first they recognize between right and wrong, “and then do what is right.” Once you know what the right thing to do is, then ask God to give you boldness to do it. As you can see, we can apply this concept every day at the workplace.

The questions for you today are: Do you consider yourself a mature believer? Do you always do what’s right once you clearly know what is right and wrong? Or do you compromise your heart because you are afraid of the consequences?
