Colossians 3:15 (NLT)
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.

Whenever you have to make a big decision in life, first ask God for wisdom and discernment, and then follow what gives you peace in your heart. You can follow this pattern both at work and at home.

It always works because God is a God of peace. If you have children and one of them asks you to do something you don’t have peace about, simply say no and tell them why.

If a decision is about to be made at work that will affect other people (employees or customers) and you don’t have peace about it, state your concerns to the appropriate parties (your manager or project team, for example) and reasons why you disagree.

Of course, in a work situation, you will have to do your homework and research before just saying, “I don’t have peace” about something. Many times the Holy Spirit communicates in subtle ways and lack of peace about a particular situation is one of them. Follow the peace in your heart and also be at peace with the people around you.

The rest of this verse says, “For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” When you have peace in your heart, it will be easy to be at peace with others.
