Two keys phrases here are crush and under your feet.
In the original Greek, the word translated crush is suntribo (soon-tree'-bo), meaning "to shatter, annihilate, torpedo, disintegrate, totally demolish." This verse assures that God has a victory in store for us in every testing area of our lives. That victory will be so complete, the enemy will never again try to put that particular obstacle in our pathway.
Take heart! You have been assured that the victory your God has planned for you is so tremendous your enemy is going to be sorry he ever bothered you in the first place! Your triumphant deliverance is going to be such an embarrassment to the enemy that he wouldn't dare try the same tactic the second time to oppose you!
In Romans 1:17 Paul writes that we believers will go "from faith to faith" - from victory to victory!
Under your feet indicates that you and I must actively engage in the good fight of faith. To do that, we must go forth in battle array. Part of the armor of God which we wear is the covering for our feet (Eph. 6:15).
We need that covering to tread on serpents and scorpions in the name of the Lord (Luke 10:19). It's worth it, because every place the sole of our foot trods on is ours! (Josh. 1:3).
Get your marching shoes out! Get ready to tread down fear, insecurity, poverty, sickness, trouble, discouragement, and all the other works of the enemy. The God of peace is about to shatter Satan's opposition under our feet. Let's go! Onward Christian soldiers!
