“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Heb. 2:3-4).
Sometimes people just get healed out of the clear blue. It doesn’t look as if they did a thing to receive their healing. They weren’t standing in faith; they were just healed.
For instance, I heard about one fellow who was walking past a church meeting and decided to step into the church to get a drink of water. (He was inebriated at the time.) He left the church and walked about a block down the street. Suddenly he realized he’d been healed of a condition he’d been suffering with for a while. He returned to the meeting and was saved!
That man wasn’t believing for his healing. He wasn’t using any faith. He wasn’t expecting anything. He just got healed according to God’s own will.
God’s power is released in two different ways. First, He sometimes releases His power by His own sovereign will, allowing His love and compassion to flow forth to set people free. Second, He responds to our faith with His power.
We can move over into the realm of faith to receive our answer. When we exercise our faith in God’s Word, we release the same power and get the same results as when God moves sovereignly. We don’t have to wait for God to pass by to see if He just might do something, because “we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7). We can have a miracle at our own will.
God wants you healed. But don’t sit back and wait for Him to give you a miracle. God expects you to use your faith to initiate one. Go to His Word and find His will; then stand on His promises by faith. Reach out and take hold of what belongs to you!
My God is so good to me. He shows me in the Word
how to receive the blessings He’s provided.
I receive by faith the healing I desire!
