Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Do you want joy in your life? Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth….” The Word of God is telling you your life is determined by what you say. Let every moment be an adventure in your Christian life.
You may be thinking, “Well, it’s too late for me.” The devil would love to have you believe it’s too late. It’s never too late to start confessing the Word of God on a daily basis and pleading the blood of Jesus over yourself. The Word will always be life to all your flesh.
I heard a true story that shows us just how much what we believe can be manifested. If it can be manifested in the negative, think of how much more God will do when our hearts are filled with His Word.
An unsaved woman went in to see her doctor because she had a high fever. This happened several times. About the third time the doctor said, “You know, you do have a fever, but I can’t find anything wrong with you whatsoever.”
After the doctor looked at her a while, he said, “You’ve been disgusted about two or three different things since you’ve come in and you keep making the statement, ‘That just burns me up.'” The doctor said, “Let’s try a little experiment. For the next two weeks, don’t say, ‘That burns me up.'” This was not a Christian doctor who knew the spiritual principles of the Word of God. But after two weeks, the lady’s fever went away.
Spiritual laws work. Like natural laws, they work whether you believe them or not. If you jump off of a building, gravity works whether you believe it will or not. Some people are blessed because they speak God’s Word even though they may not understand why they are being blessed. The promises are conditional. The laws are established.
Think of how much more we can enjoy life when we grab hold of the promises in the blood covenant. We were designed to be more than conquerors in this life. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Rom. 8:37).
We are overcomers. When the destroyer gets to my house, he hits a spiritual shield and he bumps over it, because the blood of the Lamb covers my house.
Don’t wait. Start today by making this daily confession. Say this out loud:
“I believe in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. I believe His blood was shed for my salvation, redemption, protection and eternal life. Because I believe it and confess it, I apply by faith the blood of Jesus on the doorposts of my heart and my home. I plead the blood of Jesus over me, my spouse, my children, my grandchildren, and all that I possess. I draw a blood line around my entire family, our homes and all that is within them. The destroyer must pass over my household. He has no right to enter. I speak the protection of Psalm 91 over my household and I thank God for protecting me.”
