“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16:11 KJV).
Joy comes from fellowship with God. People who don’t spend time with God, or don’t fellowship with God, or don’t have a prayer life of their own, or don’t really get in the Word of God themselves, don’t really have much development of joy.
They might be a religious person. But Christianity is not a religion. A religion has been made out of it, forms, customs, etc. But Christianity is not a religion.
Christianity is an experience with somebody who is alive, who will change your life. His name is Jesus Christ. You have to be attached to Him in a daily way in order to have joy manifest in you.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16:11).
Fullness Of Joy
In the presence of God there is fullness of joy. You find that is true when you spend time with God every day. I recommend that you start out with God in the morning. Get filled up with joy before you go see some of those devils at work.
You need your joy strong so that you can deal with what is going on that day. So, you want to start out with the joy of God. You want to start out in the presence of the Lord before you turn on the Today Show. The joy of God will help you make it through the day, because it will last all day long.
Practice the presence of the Holy Ghost. The more time you spend in prayer; the more time you spend meditating in the Word, and singing to the Lord in the morning the more you will experience the joy of the Lord.
A lot of times I wake up, and as soon as my feet hit the floor I have a song in my spirit. I had one this morning. By the time you are in the shower, you are humming that song, confessing the Word of God, and that song stays with you all day.
And when something comes up, you go back to that song, praise God. The joy of the Lord is that joy that will bubble up on the inside of you. It comes from practicing the presence with God.
