“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isa. 26:3).
There are three important points made in today’s text. God will keep you in perfect peace. You must keep your mind on Jesus and the word of God. You must trust in the Word of God.
First of all he said that God will keep him. Your body can be all messed up, but God can keep you in the middle of the mess. It said that God will keep you in perfect peace, but it gives a condition. You must keep your mind on Him.
That individual who keeps his mind stayed on God, is thinking about “God supplies my need” instead of the bill. He’s thinking about Christ the Healer instead of the doctor’s report. He’s keeping his mind on God, his Deliverer, his Way-Maker. He keeps his mind stayed on “Thee,” because he is trusting in God.
Now, trust in God, and meditation on God will release peace. You need peace to manifest itself, especially if you just had a big fight with your spouse. You just finished screaming, fighting, slamming doors, and rattling the windows.
God will say, “Calm down and get back to My word. Start thinking about Me.” Think about God instead of the problem. Trusting God to work the situation out releases peace in your life.
A lot of times believers who have sinned get out of peace. If we do sin, the Bible says that if we confess our sins in Jesus’ name, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. You can get over into, “Well, I don’t know if God is going to bless me anymore, because I did this.” If you confessed the sin before Him, He forgave you. Now, peace comes when you keep your mind on the forgiveness.
Let me tell you also, you can operate in peace if you start off the day with your mind on the Lord. The first thing you do is start thinking about God.
Look out the window and see the sun come up, and say, “Oh, God what a wonderful day. Praise the Lord. I don’t care if it’s cold or if it’s hot. If it’s cold, Father, I thank you because the crisp cold air is wonderful. If it’s hot, thank God for the heat in Jesus’ name.”
Keep your mind stayed on Him and walk in supernatural peace.
