“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11 KJV).
You haven’t lived until you’ve lived in Jesus. While some act as though life ends once you get saved, the Scripture testifies that life begins after you are saved. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God says that real life is in the Son.
There are some people who say that Jesus is not Lord, that He was just another prophet, or just a good man. That is the witness of men. But the witness of God is far better than man’s.
Every man knows that God is on the inside. Whenever they hear the gospel they know that Jesus is the Messiah. Their head may have been educated otherwise. They may have been pressured otherwise, but in their spirit they have the witness.
John says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” The Greek word for life is zoé. It means eternal life, or life as God has it. God has given His life— zoé—to whoever receives Jesus as Lord.
Well what kind of life does God have? Can God be killed? No. Is God poor? Certainly not! Is God sick? Are you crazy?! Well the Bible tells us that as He is, so are we in this world, because His life is in us (1 John 4:17).
We have been given the very life of God, because life is in Jesus, the Son of God. And that life is found only in Jesus. There is only one way—God’s way. So, if you haven’t already, you are going to have to make a decision about this Jesus.
I am not talking about going to church, or singing in the choir and on deacon boards, trustee boards, or any other helps ministry.
There must come a day in your life when you say, “Lord Jesus I am lost, and I am a sinner. I am in need of salvation, and You, Jesus, are the only one that paid the price for my salvation. You are the remedy that Jehovah sent, and I receive You as my Savior. Come into my life and I receive You now. I believe you were raised from the dead, and You are Lord.”
That is when you really begin to live.
